Written By Travis Maril
In my first post as Digital Artist-in-Residence for the American Viola Society, I explore a core coordination problem of string playing: our hands want to do the same thing as each other, even when it’s to our detriment! In the video I demonstrate some simple exercises to work on the left hand side of this problem, so if you’ve ever felt like you have excess tension in your left hand, check it out!
Next week I’ll go into solutions for a similar problem with the bow arm. Stay tuned!
